Almunecar is a coastal municipality of Granada, located in the district of Costa Tropical, a part historically linked to Costa del Sol, that we suppose they were the coasts from Málaga to Almería.
The system of beaches that conform Almunecar coast, we can divide it in four well differentiated areas, or separated by promontories or cliffs that diversify them and give them entity. These areas are the following ones, according to the order that we will continue, from East to West we have: Beaches Velilla area, Beaches El Paseo/Puerta del Mar area, Beaches San Cristóbal area, Beaches La Herradura area.
