Seven Palaces Cave is the headquarters of Almunecar Archaeological Municipal Museum. It is next to San Miguel Castle, in Almunecar old town. Among the pieces that it contains in its interior, it highlights the Apofis's I Canopo Glass without a doubt this piece of the Egyptian art, is the written oldest document found in the Iberian Peninsula. The piece is incredibly sculpted and polished in a single marble block, and it contains hieroglyphic engravings. The execution of the piece, the same as the other alabaster glasses found in Almuñécar, is not solely incredibly beautiful, it is fascinating because we find incomprehensible its execution without having precise tools, then nonexistent. This sacred glass was used for housing the mummified viscera of Aauserre Apofis I Pharaoh of the XV dynasty, in the Intermission Second Period, object manufactured around 1540 b.c.
In any case, in this place we don't want to give a chronological or anthropological view of Almuñécar or Tropical Costa, but giving you enough suggestions, so that you can enjoy all the cultural treasures of this millennial city.
